LRPD: Investigation open on robbery of governor's aide, new evidence cited

In response to a reader query, I again asked LRPD about progress on the investigation into the fall robbery of Lamar Davis, the governor's chief of staff. He reported being carjacked and forced to withdraw money from an ATM by his robbers. There were some discrepancies, location particularly, with a robbery report given by a woman at a Roosevelt Road motel.

I sent a query to Lt. Sidney Allen on the case, including whether the police had concluded anyone might have filed a false report on the robbery.  His full response:

The investigation is still open, because no suspect has been identified. It was proven by video that Lamar Davis was beaten and forced to travel to an ATM to remove money. There is not enough evidence to make an arrest, but we believe that new evidence could point to a potential suspect.

He has not yet responded to several followup questions, including whether the mention of video was to ATM video or a camera elsewhere.
