Sunday night line — heavenly music and a plea for HIV/AIDS

Here's an open line for Sunday night. A few final words:

* JOYFUL NOISE: Word comes from St. Mark Baptist Church that its sanctuary choir — shown in the YouTube above at an earlier regional competition — had won a national choir competition in Los Angeles this weekend. Information here. The choir passed through LAX about the time a shooting broke out in a terminal and were among those kept in a holding area as authorities responded.

* CAMPAIGN TO END AIDS: A website notes an appearance planned tomorrow before the state Board of Education to press for non-discrimination against those with HIV/AIDS. The appearance arises from the controversy in Pea Ridg when the school district required HIV testing of children in foster care before they were allowed to attend class. The state Human Services Department, custodian of the children, defended the testing, but disability rights group have said it is not allowed by the Americans with Disabilities Act.
