Channel 4 reports that a survey in the Mount Vernon-Enola school district shows strong support for putting guns in the hands of school staff "certified" to carry them. Next step is approval from the School Board.

The superintendent [Larry Walters] says the hijacking of a school bus in Jacksonville last week is part of the reason the board needs to take action to create safer schools.

So will they also arm all school bus drivers?

(Searching the district website for a photo of the superintendent, I notice in his message he doesn't post his photo, but does post those of the two school principals. Can't be too careful, I guess.)
