Circuit Judge Wendell Griffen
has recused from hearing the lawsuit challenging the new state law
that imposes additional burdens on petition campaigns
for initiatives and referendums. He said he'd worked with one of the plaintiffs, Neil Sealy,
on social justice initiatives. (Just last week, they participated in a group that visited U.S. Rep. Tim Griffin's office to encourage to stop backing the government shutdown as he tried to kill the Affordable Care Act.)
The case was reassigned to Judge Mary McGowan.
