Here’s something worth doing tomorrow.

25 organizations, including churches and businesses, have signed up to participate in the Little Rock Pride Parade. Group entry has closed, but individuals may enter up to the day of the parade.

It starts at 2 p.m. Saturday at 600 East Capitol Avenue and will go to Scott Street, President Clinton Avenue and then the Clinton President Park. Organizers explain:

The 2013 Little Rock Pride Parade is being held in October to coincide with LGBT History Month. Little Rock does not currently offer much space for LGBT people to come together and feel accepted. Establishing a pride parade in the capital city will give people the chance to see LGBT people here, and to see the many businesses, politicians, community leaders, and others who are committed to celebrating and supporting diversity and equality. We hope that this parade will become a symbol of the strong community of acceptance we envision for Central Arkansas.

We hope that the parade will:

* Provide space for people to come together to celebrate diversity and equality;

* Strengthen the community experience for LGBT people in Arkansas;

* Offer LGBT youth positive space for gaining confidence in themselves, in their families, the LGBT community, and the broader community;

Sponsors include the Human Rights Campaign and Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays.
