Four companies were cited by the U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration
yesterday in connection with a March crane collapse
at the Nuclear One power plant that killed one worker and injured eight. The plant was shut down for almost a month
following the accident.
Precision Surveillance Corp
of East Chicago, Ind., Bigge Crane and Rigging Co
. of San Leandro, Calif., Siemens Power Generation, Inc
of Orlando, Fla., and Entergy Operations Inc.
of Russellville face fines totaling over $175,000 in the collapse on charges that they failed to ensure the crane met safety specifications.
