Arkansas Business is covering the bankruptcy court hearing today at which a judge will decide whether to approve Simmons First National Corp.’s high bid for Metropolitan National Bank of Little Rock.

Disclosed already is Simmons’ bid of $53.6 million, a significant improvement over the $16.9 million “stalking horse” bid first entered by a Texas investment group.
