Noon was the deadline to file for special primaries for the election to fill Paul Bookout’s District 21 Senate seat in the Jonesboro area. He resigned after an Ethics Commission reprimand for spending campaign money on himself. He is under investigation by a special prosecutor.

Former state Rep. Ray Kidd, a local JP, filed today as a Democrat as did Radius Baker, the Valley View school superintendent. They joined two other Democrats, Steve Rockwell and former Sen. Gene Roebuck.
