Jack McQuary, an employee of the state prosecutor coordinator's office who's been appointed as special proseuctor to review former Sen. Paul Bookout's campaign finance filings, has issued a pro forma statement on his plans in response to numerous media inquiries.
He said he'd accept the appointment but notified media that he'd abide by the rules and not comment on an ongoing investigation. He said all he knew about the case was what he'd read and heard in the news. An investigation will have to take place and he'll notify media of progress "in accordance with the rules."
"... as with any criminal investigation and case, all suspects and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in our courts," he concluded.
