Example: Most Republicans voted against reauthorizing the Violence Against Women Act. Every single Arkansas Republican in Congress opposed the measure.
Example: A Republican Super PAC, the Hillary Project, has come up with a really funny game — Slap Hillary. Press a button and it knocks a cartoon image of Hillary cock-eyed. More here on this fun bunch.
Why is it that violence, generally, is so appealing to Republicans? I'm reminded of when Lt. Gov. Mark Darr cheered his nephew for saying on social media I ought to be slapped for speaking liberal thoughts at Boys State.
Never mind me. I thought a group gathering signatures for an on-line petition against the slap Hillary game said it well:
Violence against women is not a joke. A woman is assaulted or beaten every 9 SECONDS in our country—and more than three women are murdered every day by their partners or boyfriends. When we excuse "games" that make fun of abusing women, we perpetuate a culture that allows violence against women to stand, and that's not OK.
To some, it is.
UPDATE: Still more here about Republicans' slurring of women.
