The State Police have announced an arrest in the death of a woman found nude this week on I-440 near Jacksonville:

Special Agents of the Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division have arrested Haywood Stricklen, III, 28, of Jacksonville in connection with the death of Brandie D. Thomas, 27, formerly of Tahlequah, Oklahoma.

Thomas’ body was discovered yesterday morning (Monday, August 5th) by passing motorists along the on-ramp to Interstate 440 from Highway 161. Thomas most recently had been residing in several locations throughout central Arkansas.

Stricklen is charged with a Class D Felony associated with violations of Arkansas Code §27-53-101 (Requirements in accidents involving death or personal injury).

Agents believe Thomas was a passenger in a vehicle being driven by Stricklen prior to her body being discovered.
