The State Police today announced the arrest of Kareame Cotton, 37, of Little Rock on two negligent homicide charges and a third-degree escape charge in the deaths of two people Jan. 1 in a crash on Interstate 30 near Scott Hamilton road.
Cotton was charged on warrants in the deaths of a Baptist pastor, David Harris, 64, and his granddaughter, Maci Harris, 10, of Little Rock. The escape charge, according to the State Police, stems from Cotton's attempt to flee the crash scene after he'd been handcuffed by troopers.
A third person, two-month-old Robert Cecola Jr., was killed in one of two crashes involving four vehicles that left three dead and at least three injured.
