Labor plugging Bill Halter for governor

The underlying action has been known for several weeks, but a new announcement from labor about support for Democrat Bill Halter's gubernatorial candidacy perhaps is a hint that he's staying put in the governor's race and not responding to Democratic Party entreaties to switch to a race for 2nd District Congress against Republican Rep. Tiny Tim Griffin.

Labor has been friendly to Democratic gubernatorial candidate Mike Ross in the past, but he caved on federal card check legislation after the issue had become a lost cause. Additionally, Halter and labor stood together on both the Arkansas lottery campaign and passage of Obamacare. Labor remains very friendly, judging by this announcement today:

Please join us as we hold a press conference at the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades Local 424 Hall next Monday honoring this recommendation and looking forward to bringing good jobs and growing our skilled labor force here in Arkansas.
