Kelley Kelley, 58, is charged with poisoning her Boston terrier and attempting to fatally overdose her husband.

On the 22nd of June 2013, around 5 p.m., the Sheriff’s Office received a report of a male subject at North Metro Hospital in Jacksonville who claimed his wife tried to kill him. According to the victim, his wife told him, 'I killed the dog and I just killed you, you should go to the hospital.' His wife then drove him to the emergency room. The wife, identified as 58-year-old Kelley Kelley, also told the hospital staff she overdosed her husband and killed the dog, a Boston terrier, which she left in the bath tub. The 73-year-old husband was treated for an overdose of prescription medication and kept overnight for observation. Investigator Steve Morgan responded. The dead dog was located inside the residence on Highway #321N in the bathtub. Kelley was arrested at the hospital for the offenses of criminal attempt to commit murder in the first degree and aggravated cruelty to animals. The remains of the dog were sent for examination. This is an on-going investigation.

Kelley is being held at the Lonoke County Detention Facility with no bond.
