The Pulaski County Sheriff's Office announced an arrest tonight of a suspect in today's robbery of the Metropolitan Bank branch at 15602 Arch Street.

Just after 6:30 p.m., deputies arrested Jeremy Heavner, 35, of 4151 Lonesome Oak Loop in Hensley. According to a police arrest report, Heavner was read his Miranda rights and then confessed to entering the bank just after 9 a.m. on Tuesday morning, informing the tellers he was there to rob the bank, and then fleeing the scene on foot with $5,494 dollars in cash.

Heavner was arrested on one count of robbery and one count of theft of property. He was also being held on seven counts of writing hot checks in Sherwood. He was booked into the Pulaski County Regional Detention Center around 8 p.m.
