The guns-and-more-guns open line.
* MARK PRYOR RUNS RIGHT: Here's coverage of Mark Pryor's "sportsmen town hall" set up for him to say he's no anti-gun pansy like that black guy in the White House. He was asked a question about how background checks infringed on 2nd Amendment rights. The question came from Neil Heslin, the father of a child slaughtered in Connecticut. Well, see, said Pryor, when you start charging fees you're starting to talk about infringing. What a stretch. Wholly unsupported by any court case I'm aware of. He apparently won't let go of the logical fallacy that because a background check wouldn't have prevented Sandy Hook that there should be no background checks. Background checks DO weed out unqualified gun buyers and that reduces gun violence, but, hey, this is Arkansas. Logic doesn't count. Only gun-waving does.
Is Mark Pryor going to call for repeal of existing background checks required of commercial gun dealers? If not, why not? What part of the "shall not be infringed" doesn't he understand?
Also: were sportswomen allowed at that town hall?
