Mark Pryor ads defend vote against gun background checks

U.S. Sen. Mark Pryor's $30,000 ad buy to defend his vote against very modest bipartisan legislation to require background checks for nearly all gun purchases is about as pathetic as you might imagine.

He voted against "President Obama's gun control legislation." He threw out the favorite straw man of the gun nut — background checks after the fact wouldn't have prevented Newtown or Aurora or (DING DING) Jonesboro. No, of course not. But they WILL reduce guns in the hands of people who shouldn't have them and, over time, that demonstrably will reduce crime.

No New Yorker will tell Mark Pryor what to do. Yadda yadda.

Disgusting, disingenuous, weasely BS.

If he's right about Arkansas. If he's right that this is the way an Arkansas politician must go on guns. God help us all. Because Tom Cotton will give us plenty of the same and then say, "Thanks whipped-dog pledge. Let me give you another."
