North Little Rock Mayor Joe Smith announced yesterday that Assistant Chief of Police Mike Davis will become the interim chief of North Little Rock Police Department, effective Saturday. The current chief, Danny Bradley, will become Smith’s Chief of Staff.

Davis began his career with the department as a patrol officer in 1986. He was sworn in as assistant chief on October 4. His salary as interim chief will be $88,800 per year. A news release from the city says officials will make a decision on a permanent chief within a few months.
