Envision Little Rock, why don't you?

Envision Little Rock 2013, a project of the design collaborative StudioMain, is a design competition to give downtown Little Rock a new "gateway," and all are invited to enter their ideas.

Envision Little Rock is focusing at an area on Interstate 30, from the Clinton Library to Hanger Hill on the east and the River Market district south to Sixth Street on the west, with the meeting of Capitol and I-30 as the center. The contest honors the 100th anniversary of John Nolen's "Report on a Park System For Little Rock," in which the famed landscape architect envisioned Capitol Avenue as a grand boulevard.

There's a March 15 registration deadline, with a walk-through for contestants planned afterward. The competition begins March 15 and runs through July 15. A jury will judge submitted ideas in August and the public will vote in September. Winners will be announced in November at a ceremony marking Nolen's plan for Little Rock.
