- GIVE ME A 'B': Jason Rapert, a cheerleader for shale exploration, is now cheerleading a Beebe sales tax bill, to unhappiness of Democrats.
During the course of a contentious conversation with Sen. Jason Rapert
yesterday over his blatantly unconstitutional bill to prohibit abortions
when a fetal hearbeat can be detected (as early as five weeks, a good 18 weeks before viability) and in many cases only after an invasive probe of a women's vagina whether she wants it or not, he boasted about his sponsorship of Gov. Mike Beebe's legislation
to complete removal of the sales tax on groceries
at some future date if various financial circumstances work out.
I didn't follow up. John Brummett did. And since it's on his blog, as opposed to the regular D-G website, I think you can read it. He doesn't get why Beebe dissed Democratic senators and gave this piece of legislative gravy to Rapert whom Brummett calls "singularly the most grandstanding right-wing blowhard in the Republican caucus."
Did Beebe extract something in return from Rapert, who's been nearly unhinged over Obamacare and the governor's attempts to extend nearly universal health coverage to the working poor of Arkansas? If he did, he's not saying.
I don't get it either.
