* THE REPUBLICAN WAR ON WOMEN CONTINUES: Talking Point Memo has a good rehash of how Congress failed to reauthorize the The Violence Against Women Act. Or, more specifically, how House Republicans killed the legislation, which had passed with 68 votes in the Senate. It provides resources to law enforcement to combat domestic abuse. The problem? This year's version of the bill was expanded to protect gay people, people who live in Indian jurisdictions and undocumented immigrants. House Majority Leader Eric Cantor simply wouldn't budge. Some kind of women, House Republicans think, just aren't deserving of protection.
