Melony Goodhand, the vice chancellor for finance and CFO for the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, has resigned effective Dec. 31 and will take a job as COO at a Tennessee "health system," Chancellor Dan Rahn has announced.
Goodhand has been with UAMS for 8 1/2 years overseeing the medical center's finances.
Rahn's press release says she "has provided strategic direction for our institution in the area of finance." That direction is leading to a joint operating agreement with a private hospital, apparently, as UAMS and St. Vincent consider forming a clinical alliance. It was Goodhand who, in e-mail to UAMS consulting merger lawyer Clifford Stromberg, declined to answer in writing questions he had because she didn't want UAMS business available to the public.
I will just answer the last two (during my meeting). Due to our freedom of information act we have no emails and little in writing about our plans. It is not wise for me to put them here to you.
