The line is open. Closing out:
* AFFIRMATIVE ACTION LIVES IN MICHIGAN: A federal appeals court today declared a Michigan ban on affirmative action in college admissions was unconstitutional. The full court split 8-7 and the U.S. Supreme Court awaits.
* GAY PRIDE: Nate Silver writes that the gay vote, though small, may have been critical in President Obama's victory. The converse of this happy story is the Catholic Church's continued bullying - refusing confirmation to a child who opposed marriage discrimination in Minnesota, and also refusing communion to his family.
* GOP TO WOMEN: THE WAR ON YOU CONTINUES: Election, schmelection. The House GOP contingent — including Reps. Griffin, Crawford and Womack - still won't go along with extension of the act aimed at protecting women from domestic violence. They don't like extending protections to gay women and immigrants. And they wonder why there's a gender gap.
* ARKANSAS FIGHTER WING STILL TARGETED BY AIR FORCE: Stephens Media reports that a new Air Force budget continues to target the 188th Fighter Wing at Fort Smith for cost cutting. Sen. Mark Pryor is "livid," story says.
