Hot Springs is going to be in “The Moment” tomorrow as organizers of a peace rally plan to send out vibrations through the Ouachita’s crystals, drumming and a collective om. Organizer Linda VanBibber calls the event an “an interfaith gathering to bring people of all races, colors and religious backgrounds together in unity. … Arkansas is full of quartz crystal, which will pick up what’s sent out and magnify it.”

VanBibber and Standing Bear Moore, who identifies himself as a Manataka Indian, say that between 2,500 and 10,000 people could show up on Hot Springs Mountain for the sunrise ceremony and other events. After some back and forth with the National Park Service about permits — they believe the park plans to park an ambulance and personnel on the mountain in the middle of the om circle — VanBibber and Moore said people from as far away as Australia and the Republic of the Congo will show up in the spa city to bring about what Moore says is the fulfillment of Manataka prophecy. Stay tuned.

UPDATE: A Hot Springs friend puts the crowd at 500, though the Park Service was ready for many more.
