Seven bulldogs burned in West Pulaski arson

The Pulaski sheriff reports that an unknown man threw gasoline into Jeff Foley's house on Foxridge Road in western Pulaski County about 2 a.m. this morning and started a fire. The homeowners were able to put the fire out quickly with a garden hose, but it trapped the family bulldogs in the kitchen where the fire began.

Margie Foley, said she found the family's seven-year-old English bulldog Obie on fire. Obie suffered the worst injuries, but six other bulldogs also were injured and taken for emergency vet care.

Foley's stepson was alerted to the fire by a loud noise in the kitchen and roused others in the family.

Damage to the house, which is off Burlingame Road near Ferndale, was estimated at $15,000. The report offered no information about a possible motive for the arson.

Margie Foley is a bulldog breeder. Her Facebook page includes the photo here.
