The Little Rock Advertising and Promotion Commission announced today that it had requested architect proposals for the expansion and renovation of Robinson Center and the Music Hall, a historic structure that opened in 1939. In addition to improving access for touring productions, the work is intended to improve the acoustics and amenities in the music hall.
The concept for a $65 million project was unveiled last June. In the original concept, seating would be reduced by 300 in the main hall, but moved closer to the stage. (And I hope those last rows of nosebleed seats are reconfigured to accommodate someone other than a fashion model.)
