Channel 7 has news that Faulkner County authorities havecharged Jack Gilean, former chief of staff at the University of Central Arkansas, with commercial burglary. A cooperating student witness has allegedly said Gillean gave him a master key that allowed him to enter faculty offices and steal tests.
Gillean resigned in June when discrepancies about the master key began unfolding. Sad case and sadder if, as the story says, more may be coming. Gillean spoke honestly at a critical time about actions by former UCA President Lu Hardin that led to his eventual departure from the school.
UPDATE: More from Log Cabin Democrat, which says Gillean has been charged with both commercial burglary and insurance fraud.
