New polling shows public approval of the U.S. Supreme Court continues to drop — to 44 percent in this New York Times reading.
Three-fourths of those polled thinks politics influences Supreme Court decisions. Gee, after Bush v. Gore and Citzens United, how could anyone think that?
Not that the public necessarily opposes politically-influenced court decisions when it suits them. A hefty majority wants the court to overturn the legislatively enacted federal health care reform act.
I should add that 44 percent is way better than Congress and just a touch behind President Obama.
