Great comment already from a reader relative to the Little Rock Board of Directors' defense last night of use of eminent domain to steamroller the homes of poor people for the tech park boondoggle.
Will City Director Dean Kumpuris stand up and urge Mayor Stodola to begin condemnation proceedings against land controlled by the Dillard family (the department store HQ) or the Stephens family (the private Epicopal Collegiate School they financed) along Cantrell Road to finally fill the missing link on the vaunted loop bike trail?
I think we all know the answer to that question.
As Kumpuris noted last night, eminent domain is in the city's quiver for this problem. It won't be fired. And the gaping bike trail hole will persist, with $1 million in state money still sitting idly after six years of dithering.
Maybe if the Chamber of Commerce supported it .....
