President Obama got 58 percent of the vote in Arkansas and, I think I remember correctly, carried a majority of the counties.
But this number crunching struck me:
Obama beat John Wolfe in the primary 95,385-68,108, a margin of 27,277:
Obama carried these counties by the following margins:
Pulaski — 19,905-3,190 (16,715)
Washington — 8,502-1,613 (6,889)
Jefferson — 6,557-2,122 (4,435)
That made the Obama margin in those three counties 28,039, bigger than what he ended with for the entire state.
