It's open to you. Some finals words:
* PRIZE-WINNING BARBECUE: John T. Edge is a winner of one of this year's James Beard Foundation's prizes for writing about food, the MFK Distinguished Writing Award. Edge is a Mississippian, but his win was for an article in Saveur, "BBQ Nation," that we've mentioned before because it writes about Jones Bar-B-Q Diner in Marianna. Here's the winning article.
* HOUSING HUBBUB: FYI: The suspension of Shelly Ehenger as executive director of the Metroplitan Housing Alliance followed her suspension Tuesday of Kim Travis, with pay, as the agency's director of administrative services, according to copies of e-mails I've been supplied by a confidential source. My request for these e-mails under the FOI is pending because of agency legal concerns about privacy issues in the personnel matter. Travis was suspended by Ehenger after complaining at some length about being left out of agency personnel decisions as well as about other facets of Ehenger's leadership.
