A state trooper became suspicious about inconsisent information provided by Carter and a companion after a stop in Lonoke County. He also noticed suspicious construction inside the trailer. A false wall concealed a four-foot section with 106 bundles of marijuana that weighed more than 2,300 pounds. Carter's companion, Christopher Dercola, testified he'd made 15 to 20 hauls of marijuana from Tucson to the Atlanta area. He co-operated with authorities in a subsequent sting that led to arrests and convictions of Georgia men. Dercola has yet to be sentenced.
