The El Chico restaurant group has announced it will donate a portion of proceeds at its restaurants in Little Rock Wednesday to the family of Jesus Larrious Herrera, slain in a robbery at the Breckenridge restaurant off Rodney Parham on Sunday night. There's also an El Chico at I-30 and Geyer Springs. They will be open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Herrera, 39, had worked 10 years for El Chico. The company's statement said:

“Jesus was wonderful. He was liked by everyone and was a genuinely nice person,”
said Michael Easley, general manager of El Chico. “He will be deeply missed.”

More to come on this case today. The police yesterday arrested four people in the case. They entered innocent pleas at initial appearances in court today.

UPDATE: Here's the PDF of LRPD detective J.C. White's officer's report on the case as it stood at the time of the arrests. Long story short: a cascade of brutal stupidity, ending with a man losing his life over a handful of money.
