The process is well underway in Arkansas. Good example was the University of Arkansas sending down a Walton-financed faculty member yesterday to advocate before the state Board of Education an expansion of a Maumelle charter school that has failed to meet its charter promise to target poor and minority children and, which, despite its advantages, doesn't score better than similarly situated schools on standardized tests. Don't hold your breath for a UA reformer to do similar advocacy work for a conventional public school district in Arkansas.
