Little Rock police announce that the mother of a two-year-old boy and her boyfriend have been arrested on charges related to abuse of the child — bruises and burns all over his body from forehead (where a burn mark resembled that of an iron) to his testicles and a possible broken arm. Police acted on a report originating in a tip from an Alma housing agency who alerted police to what appeared to be an injured child.

The report is gruesome.

Police said Ronnie Canada was charged with first-degree battery and first-degree endangering the welfare of a minor. Tiffany Bray was charged with permitting abuse of a minor and first-degree endangering the welfare of a minor. The child is in state custody now.

UPDATE: LRPD reports the couple was investigated in Joplin, Mo., for suspected abuse but no charge was filed and they retained custody.
