University of Arkansas-Fayetteville students will pay 5.3 percent more this fall in tuition and fees, after the UA board of trustees voted unanimously today to raise tuition at UA institutions system-wide anywhere from 2 to 5 percent.

According to UA System President Donald Bobbitt, state schools across the country are averaging 5.9 percent. The UA increase is needed "just to meet the needs that exist," he said, according to Arkansas Online.
