President Obama speaks publicly on Trayvon Martin killing

Excellent comment drawing comparisons between Travyon Martin and Emmett Till at The New Yorker today.

President Obama spoke publicly about the killing for the first time this morning from the White House Rose Garden. "If I had a son, he would look just like Trayvon," he said.

Tracy Martin and Sybrina Fulton, Trayvon Martin's parents, have started a Change.org petition calling for the investigation of their son's death, and high school students across south Florida staged a walk out this morning to protest Zimmerman's lack of arrest.
