.... where I'm sitting nothing to report by way of weather yet. But the day holds:
* ARKANSAS LEGISLATURE: They will meet. Uncertain yet if any of the planned election-year gimmicks — opening up parole, fidding with state pay, cutting the budget, the Jason Rapert-takeover of the federal budget by state lawmakers around the country, but primarily from the likes of Bodcaw, Tchfuncte, Opelika, Fort Sumter and Hot Coffee — will be rolled out today or not. (John Reed of Senate staff provided photo above.)
* STATE BOARD OF EDUCATION: They're scheduled to meet — and will be on TV if they do. Subject is the big mess in the Pulaski County School District. It is to be placed on, essentially, double fiscal distress status. Financial balances continue to decline. The question that hangs in the air is whether the state will eventually use its control over the district, in state receivership, to take it over and merge it in some fashion with Little Rock and North Little Rock. That won't happen today, but some hints about the future might be in store.
