The U.S. attorney announced plea deals by three more defendants in the Delta Blues bust of drug running and public corruption in eastern Arkansas.
Here are the details. The pleas relate specifically to arranging a police escort for a putative drug shipment; buying a firearm for a felon, and brokering a cocaine deal.
Which reminds me: I heard a rumor that feds may have lost a potential key witness/future defendant not long ago on account of that person's death. (Natural causes.) Though some police officers were named in the initial indictment, there's been no indication yet, but plenty of speculation, on whether public corruption moved up the ladder of the justice system. That possibility has been a subject of a number of rounds of questioning in the region.
