Police report John Edward Williams Jr., 33, was killed about 12:20 a.m. this morning at 7500 S. University, the address of the Heritage House Inn. The summary:
Officers responded to 7500 S. University after receiving a call to a shooting around 12:22 a.m. Officers located an unidentified black male suffering from at least one gun shot wound to the upper torso. Information was received that a 70's Model Lincoln Towncar might be involved in this incident. Officer spotted this car near the area and pursued it until they lost sight of the car. The car was later recovered by Children's Hospital security on their property. The car will be processed for any evidence. No arrests at this time.
The suspect is described as a black male, 5'7", 180 lbs, wearing a tan jacket and blue jeans. The motive is domestic.
UPDATE: Police announced Friday afternoon that they'd arrested a suspect in the case, Henry Harmon, 41. He was charged with capital and murder and also named as a suspect in the robbery Thursday of a Shell convenience store on West Markham.
