The New York Times today editorializes on the failure of U.S. law to provide a minimum wage for home care aides. (Have you ever hired someone to care for an aging or sick relative? Do you think they deserve less than other minimum-wage workers? I have and I don't.)
The Obama administration wants to change the rule. The Republican congressional blockade of appointments to the National Labor Relations Board is preventing it. The GOP presumably would OK an appointee who opposed fair pay, collective bargaining and the like.
