I hope to get a report again today from some of the community protectors like Kathy Wells and Barry Haas who've put in hundreds of hours attempting to get the best possible protection for the Central Arkansas water supply. You'll be happy to know that the Koch brothers have sent their lobbyist from Northwest Arkansas, Teresa Oelke, to fight water protection in Central Arkansas. She could spend her time more profitably trying to do something about the water supply in her own backyard instead of screwing up ours. Koch lobbyist also lobbies for Deltic Timber, which controls most land in watershed, so he's called in whatever muscle he can muster to get things to go like Deltic wants.
UPDATE: The Planning Board got an earful of the black helicopter crowd and then voted unanimously to adopt the land use regulations. It goes next to the Quorum Court, where the vote isn't likely to be unanimous and will test County Judge Buddy Villines' consensus building skills. The matter likely will be heard next month.
