Words fail. Caution: The video is violent and unsettling.
Here's some more background. The video is said to show a Republican Texas family court judge taking a belt repeatedly to his daughter, who has cerebral palsy, over her computer use. The video, seven years old, has only recently been released because the daughter said her father continued to be abusive. It's gone viral. If you've time, Google his name and peruse some of the comment threads on the dozens of sites with commentary. Some of them are as chilling as the video itself.
UPDATE: A Corpus Christi TV station has talked to the daughter, but not her father.
UPDATE II: Aransas County Texas has posted a notice of the video, says the matter is being investigated and asks that people stop calling.
UPDATE III: Judge William Adams of Aransas County, Texas has now responded. It happened. He says he "apologized." And, hold on to your hats:
When asked if he thought the conduct in the video was excessive, Judge Adams said, "It's not as bad as it looks on tape."
Judge Adams also informed us he has already contacted the Judicial Review in Austin and "more will come out" during the investigation.
I guarantee you there's a substantial crowd — you know who they are— that will defend this lowlife. I refer you to my friend Randy Cox's website on the abuse and futility of corporal punishment (sometimes more accurately described as beating children).
