McAlmont switching ends in stabbing

Too sad. From the Pulaski County sheriff's office:

Setting: McAlmont (that's a neighborhood outside the eastern boundary of North Little Rock on the Old Jacksonville Highway).

Events from deputies' report: A man comes home and hears his 26-year-old son, described as mentally handicapped has been "acting up." Father takes a switch to his son to give him a "couple of licks." A female neighbor says that wasn't right. Man calls neighbor a bitch. Woman's son takes offense. He begins hitting father and stabs him in chest, shoulder and face. Victim hospitalized in serious condition. Alleged stabber, who apparently broke his hand, charged with battery.
