Mulling this morning the end of the South Carolina triumvirate at the Arkansas Lottery, I realized the departure of Ernie P., David Barden and Ernestine Middleton saves, on an annual basis, more than $750,000, or 150 one-year lottery scholarships. Even two months without the three frees up enough money for two dozen.
Middleton was fired Wednesday by interim director Julie Baldridge. Barden and Ernie P. resigned. I was told last night that Middleton's file, which will reveal reasons for her firing, won't be released until next week.
