Earlier, authorities identified Joe Lee Richards Jr., son of a Benton alderman and former Saline County sheriff, as one of the buried bodies.
Wright, who was charged yesterday with capital murder, has been linked to murder before. The D-G said this morning she was identified as an accomplice in a 1993 slaying. She was charged, then given immunity for testifying against a man convicted of capital murder. She and another man were paid with cocaine to kill Jeff Rhodes, 21, according to the newspaper account. Not an ideal candidate for a girlfriend, doesn't sound like.
Mara Leveritt tells me that Wright got a mention in her book, "Boys on the Tracks," about the mysterious deaths in Saline County of two boys run over by a train. I won't even begin to try to detail the conspiracy theories bundled up in that tale about life in not-so-quiet Saline County, but at least one TV website comment string has already invoked the famous case.
NOTED: Marissa Wright's Facebook page indicates a taste for gospel music.
UPDATE: Fox 16 reports the arrest of another woman in the case, for hindering apprehension and abuse of a corpse.
