I mentioned recently a new blog MoveArkansas, which promises to focus on smarter design and city planning and policies friendlier to pedestrians and cyclists. A post yesterday illustrated something that could hardly be more auto-centric. It's the outlawing of pedestrian use of the Broadway crosswalk, by City Hall no less, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Got to get those city hall employees (and others, of course) from suburban cities in and out of town expeditiously. On foot? Take the long way around.
The MoveArkansas post drew a lot of chatter from other sites interested in friendlier city living.
