Taylor Swift played Verizon Arena last night and Brian Chilson sent a photo from the show.
The crowd was much smaller, of course, but still a packed house turned out last night at the Clinton School for a talk by David Margolick, author of "Elizabeth and Hazel: Two Women of Little Rock," the story about people and events behind the story of the famous photo of Elizabeth Eckford walking to Central High in 1957. Eckford was there last night; it was her 70th birthday. She told me after that she liked the book and particularly appreciated the accuracy of the reporting. Eckford and Hazel Bryan Massery, who formed a friendship years after Massery apologized for her actions that day, later became estranged. They last talked Sept. 11, 2001. Margolick revealed that Massery called Eckford for comfort as events unfolded that day while she was on a trip near New York.
