A friend who has made one of his civic pursuits protection of the zoning plan that was supposed to protect the scenic Highway 10 corridor and prevent development of another Rodney Parham Road sends news of neighborhood activity on pending planning matters:
* Neighborhood opposition has developed to a proposed development with offices and a Battery Outfitters retail store at 15104 Cantrell. A letter from the developer outlines objections raised and his responses. The Planning Commission will take this up Oct. 6.
* Highway 10 neighbors plan to turn out for a City Board meeting Oct. 4 to hear an appeal of the Planning Commission's denial of a request to allow a Team Clean car wash on the south side of Cantrell, across the highway from a Burger King a short distance east of Rummel Road.
* Neighbors support the Easter Seals proposal to move its adult training and activities center from Woodland Heights to a former Harvest Food/furniture store on Cantrell at Taylor Loop.
