Remember the robbery of a Wendy's on Col. Glenn Road in June by a man wearing a Spiderman mask?
Police have announced an arrest in the case — not of Spiderman but of a restaurant employee who says he assisted in the robbery. Report follows:
1. 2011-59422 — AGGRAVATED ROBBERY (BUSINESS)
SUSPECT — BENNETT ROWEN, W/M, 09-06-1990, 14619 BROWN BEAR ROAD
VICTIM — WENDY’S, 10924 COLONEL GLENN ROAD
INCIDENT DATE/TIME — 06-07-2011, 0126 HOURS
INCIDENT LOCATION —10924 COLONEL GLENN ROAD
ARREST DATE/TIME —08-25-1021, 1650 HOURS
ARREST LOCATION — 700 WEST MARKHAM STREET
On June 07, 2011, at approximately 0126 hours Officers responded to an aggravated robbery just occurred at the Wendy’s located at 10924 Colonel Glenn Road. Upon Officers arrival contact was made with store employees who advised that a male subject wearing a Spiderman mask with a hood and armed with a black semi-automatic handgun entered the business through the drive-thru window and demanded cash. The subject then fled the business into a wooded area west of the business. The Little Rock K-9 Unit responded and located the suspects’ broken air-soft pistol that matched the description given by employees. Detectives and Crime Scene responded and processed the scene.
On August 25, 2011, at 1650 hours Bennett Rowen (Assistant Manager) responded to the Downtown Detective Division to be re-interviewed in reference to this case. Mr. Rowen advised that he was involved in the robbery. Mr. Rowen was not the masked robber, but he did assist him in robbing the business. Mr. Rowen was charged with one count Aggravated Robbery and one count Theft of Property and transported to the Pulaski County Jail. The investigation is continuing.
